Nitsuko Melting Materials Industry Co., Ltd. was founded in 1940 as Nikko Shokai, established Nippon Steel Melting Materials Co., Ltd. in 1950, and changed its name to Nitsuko Melting Materials Industry in 1978, and has been consistently manufacturing and selling welding materials. Based on the know-how of research, development, manufacturing, and quality control cultivated over 80 years, we aim to further expand our service areas in Japan and overseas.

In addition to arc welding rods, fluxed wires, and CO2 wires, we are in a system to respond immediately to all requests and consultations, such as stainless steel, low-alloy, hardened overlay, nickel alloys, copper alloys, cobalt alloys, and titanium, as well as electron beam welding processing, special overlay processing, automatic welding strand wires, and thermal spraying materials.

History

  • September 1940: The first president, Tsunesaku Tagi, established Nikko Shokai in Osaka City for the purpose of producing coated arc welding rods.
     
  • February 1942 : The company entered into a technical alliance with Nichia Steel Co., Ltd., transferred its production facilities to the company and became the exclusive partner plant.
     
  • March 1949: Exhibited in the National Korean Stick Quality Contest sponsored by the Ministry of Trade and Industry (now the Ministry of International Trade and Industry) and won the first prize.
     
  • November 1950 : Separated from Nichia Steel Co., Ltd. Established Nippon Steel Melting Materials Co., Ltd.
     
  • January 1961 : Technical alliance with Fuji Weld (Philippines).
     
  • October 1961: Production begins at the Itami plant. The company name was changed to Nikko Melting Materials Industry Co., Ltd.
     
  • July 1963: Hiroshima Sales Office opened.
     
  • October 1965: The newly established Katano Plant.
     
  • June 1970. : Certified as an "export contributing company" by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
     
  • April 1972: Technical alliance with Nitsuko Steel (Indonesia).
     
  • December 1972: Certified by the U.S. Bureau of Transportation (ABS).
     
  • April 1975 : Technical Alliance with Nichiya Thailand (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
     
  • March 1977: Certified by Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS).
     
  • April 1977: Hidenori Tagi is appointed as the second president.
     
  • April 1978: Tokyo Sales Office opens.
     
  • May 1978 : Changed its name to Nitsuko Melting Materials Industry Co., Ltd.
     
  • May 1980 : Cooperated with Special Electrode Co., Ltd.
     
  • April 1981 : Entered into a technical alliance with Star Industrial Gas (Pakistan).
     
  • December 1981: Certified by the Japan Maritime Association (NK).
     
  • December 1983: Accredited by Lloyd's Register of Shipping (LR).
     
  • April 1984: Participated in the management of Nitsuko Wire Co., Ltd. (formerly Osaka Wire) through the mediation of the Itochu Group and became a subsidiary of the Company.
     
  • July 1984: The new Ikoma plant was established.
     
  • February 1989: The new electron beam welding department was established.
     
  • January 1990
     

    A new flux-filled wire manufacturing facility was established at the Ikoma Plant and production began. Technical Alliance with PowerWeld (Malaysia)

  • March 1990: Omiya Branch Office opens.
     
  • December 1992: Expanded wire production facility with fracks and began operations.
     
  • January 1993: Both the Tokyo branch and the Omiya sales office were promoted.
     
  • March 1993: Stainless steel flux wire products, [NFG-Series] started large-scale production
      
  • July 1995 : Due to the Great Hanshin Earthquake, the headquarters was moved from Itami City to the current location of Nitsuko Line Co., Ltd. Opening of Seoul Nitsuko (Korea). Technical alliance with Sea Esab Co., Ltd. (Korea). Technical alliance with Hyundai General Metals Co., Ltd. (Korea)
  • March 1997: Received additional JIS labeling license, Approved Item: Coated Arc Welding Rod for High Strength Steel (JIS Z3212)
     
  • November 1997: Relocated the Katano Plant's product warehouse to the Ikoma Plant and established the Sales Division at the Ikoma Factory.
     
  • December 1999: NZ-11 began sales
     
  • Dec 2002 : Certification ISO9001:2000 / JIS Q 9001:2000
     
  • May 2003: Obtained JIS labeling license for stainless steel flux wire, approved item: Stainless steel arc welded flux wire and molten rod (JIS Z3323)
     
  • July 2004: Facilities and enhanced commercial use, inventory and shipment management software (OBIC7 applied)
     
  • June 2005 : Expanded and started operation of medium-sized pipe production equipment (pilot plant) for the purpose of prototyping, improvement and production of small quantities of flux-filled wires
     
  • January 2007: Expansion and commissioning of new electron beam welding (EBW) equipment
     
  • July 2007 : Relocated Omiya Sales Office\
     
  • August 2008: Obtained the certifications to convert to the new JIS system, arc coated for mild steel (JIS Z3211), stainless steel arc coated welding rod (JIS Z3221), stainless steel arc welding wire and molten rod (JIS Z3323)
     
  • September 2008: LC-08 started sales.
     
  • May 2009: Mild steel, high strength steel and low temperature armored arc welding rod
     
  • April 2010 : Newly established Development Department
     
  • February 2011: Passed the JIS marking labeling system certification for arc welded flux wires for mild steel, high-strength steel and low-temperature steel (JIS Z3313).
     
  • July 2013 : Relocated Hiroshima office
     
  • April 2014 : Opening of Nagoya Sales Office
     
  • July 2014 : Tokyo-Omiya Integration
     
  • August 2014: Ikuhisa Tsuda is appointed as the third president.
     
  • October 2018 : Relocated Tokyo Branch
