Talking with Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung at the seminar on the development trend of semiconductor industry, artificial intelligence and opportunities for Vietnam on 11/12, Mr. Jensen said he felt happy and interesting that many Vietnamese, especially young people, Recognize him and ask to take a picture with him.
"I feel welcome in this country," the Nvidia president said.
THREE FACTORS HELP VIETNAM DELVE INTO AI
According to Mr. Jensen Huang, the world is witnessing the biggest wave ever in the scientific and technological revolution. Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a new technology infrastructure, supporting industries to develop together.
"This new infrastructure is an extraordinary development and a must-do for all countries, including Vietnam. I think a country is incapable of developing if it lags behind in AI. Vietnam must take advantage of the opportunity to seize and develop AI for society, for people and for industries", emphasized Nvidia President.
Given Vietnam's development trend and preparation, Mr. Jensen Huang believes that Vietnam is ready to catch up and accelerate in the future. Accordingly, Nvidia's President emphasized the 3-component formula for Vietnam to deepen and develop AI.
First, it is a digital Vietnam. Regarding this, Nvidia representative said that Vietnam is ready for full digitization with 100% of the population already using mobile platforms and having decades of digitizing data, language and culture.
From this perspective, Mr. Jensen Huang said that the third factor is infrastructure because AI is also human and in order to have AI people, Vietnam needs to build a new infrastructure for the breakthrough of this industry, similar to Viettel building telecommunications infrastructure in recent years. Accordingly, Vietnam needs to form a supercomputer infrastructure, serving the manufacturing and manufacturing industry through taking raw data for production and analyzing into intelligence for Vietnamese society by Vietnamese engineers.
VIETNAM NEEDS TO ACT QUICKLY
But the important thing, Mr. Jensen Huang said, the ingredients of this formula cannot be taken automatically but must have a strong vision and commitment from the Government.
"Yesterday, I met and spoke with the Prime Minister. He repeatedly emphasized his determination to realize an AI Vietnam. However, infrastructure construction is not just a public sector job, it needs private sector participation," Jensen said.
Regarding the prospect of cooperation with Vietnam, Nvidia Chairman said that currently, semiconductor technology and AI are extremely important strategies, vital to the development and prosperity of countries. In Vietnam, Nvidia is a partner of many large enterprises such as Viettel, FPT, Vingroup ... with annual revenue of about 500 million USD. But not stopping here, Nvidia has the ambition to expand the Vietnamese market in an effort to promote a "Vietnamese AI".
"We soon established a legal entity in Vietnam and are committed to making Vietnam our second home. The Minister can appoint a partner so that we can cooperate and gradually realize the dream of building a new Vietnam", Mr. Jensen proposed to Minister Nguyen Chi Dung.
Mr. Jensen Huang said that Nvidia has many initiatives to implement in Vietnam, first of all, to promote human resources with technology platforms to "enter" the AI world.
"We want to set up a design center here. Vietnam has many Vietnamese computer scientists from all over the globe. Vietnam is also the world's largest software exporter. These are the fundamental factors for Vietnam to make a breakthrough in developing 1 million AI engineers, making Vietnam the AI center with the most powerful team in the world", Nvidia President analyzed.
In particular, through the message of the Head of Government, he believes Vietnam will be Nvidia's second home and will be Nvidia's largest center in the world. "This is Nvidia's first time in Vietnam but it will be the beginning of paving the way for further trips," he said.
However, Jensen noted that this wave is "happening faster than any other revolution that has happened in recent times, so action is needed very quickly." "Nvidia's presence today is a testament to our action." The Nvidia president emphasized.
