    Description
    Metcal innovation has been leading the industry for decades, starting with SmartHeat® technology that senses the thermal load and instantly provides the required power to the weld. Embedded self-regulating heaters provide the right amount of power based on the requirements of the weld. This provides a fast, safe, and repeatable process without the need for calibration. Intermetallic compound thickness is important in the formation of welds.

    Connection Validation™ (CV) evaluates the quality of the weld by calculating the formation of the intermetallic compound and providing closed-loop feedback to the operator. The CV provides feedback to the operator via an LED ring integrated into the handheld. It accepts the risks associated with the variables associated with welding operations and removes the determination of the success and failure of a good weld from the operator's hands. The CV complements the operator's skill to assess the quality of the weld by introducing an objective method for assessing the quality of the weld. This systematic and objective approach provides repeatability and a measurable standard for the welding process.
